Many of the grave sites of our earliest settlers are not known. They typically buried loved ones on the family land, usually on a hill. Some of the early graves have disappeared during the last 200 years.
Also, in the early years of our county, the communities of Fruitland and Edneyville were considered one and the same.
Therefore some of the earliest settlers and land owners of today’s Fruitland community may have grave sites in the Edneyville community.
