Flat Rock

There are two large and historical cemeteries in the traditional community of Flat Rock.
One of the cemeteries tells the story of the local mountain people of Henderson County. The other cemetery is a rich heritage of the Southern notables from the Low Country of South Carolina and Georgia.
There were slave cemeteries in the community also. Most have disappeared, but the site or general location of two are noted.
There is also a grave atop Glassy Mountain.
