Dana Baptist Church was founded in 1936 with 72 members.
Land was purchased from Gladys Corn Sentell and her sister, Grace Corn Gibbs. Later Grace Gibbs sold an additional three acres. This is the church orchard and cemetery today.
In 1940 and 1941 additional land was purchased.
The church used the “Lord’s Acre Plan” to build the church and parsonage. A two-acre orchard was set at two different times in 1946 and 1954.
A fellowship hall was built in 1977.
Charter members included families of Allen, Brown, Boone, Corn, Hill, Hoots, Hyder, Justice, Lively, Lyda, Marshall, Pace and other area families.
The oldest grave within the cemetery is that of Luther Victor Lyda (1892-1939).
