Terry Ruscin is an author, photographer, researcher and retired advertising executive. He is a member of the Henderson County Genealogical and Historical Society, Historic Flat Rock, Hendersonville’s Design Review Advisory Committee overseeing the city’s historic districts, and the Henderson County Historic Resources Commission. Ruscin has also served on the board of the California Missions Foundation.
Ruscin has written travelogues and books on the early history of California and Henderson County and, with author-columnist Louise H. Bailey’s son Joseph Bailey Jr., finished Louise Bailey’s 10th book “Historic Henderson County: Tales from Along the Ridges,” published posthumously. He has also collaborated in other books on history and travel.
A graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich., Ruscin owned and served as creative director for Ruscin Advertising Inc., in San Diego, Calif., before taking an early retirement and moving to Hendersonville in 2004. In addition to writing and research, Ruscin enjoys photographing architecture and the wonders of nature in the western Carolinas.
