1967 Piedmont Jetliner Crash

On July 19, 1967, a Piedmont Airlines Boeing 727-22 and twin-engine Cessna 310 collided over Henderson County.
Both aircraft were destroyed and all 82 passengers and crew of both planes were killed.
The Piedmont jet had taken off from the Asheville Airport. The Cessna was heading for the Asheville Airport.
